“Candles are such a beautiful gift to give and receive and here at A.N Candle Co. we want to make sure you get the most out of your beautiful candle and can enjoy it to its fullest.”
Candles, with their gentle glow and captivating scents, are a gift that warms the heart and soul. At A.N Candle Co., we believe that the journey of candle gifting should be as delightful as the candle itself. To ensure you make the most of your beautiful candle and savour every moment, we’ve assembled a set of 10 simple and essential tips so that you can burn your candle safely and efficiently.
Step #1
Always ensure that your candle is in perfect condition before lighting and that there are no visible cracks or dents in your candle vessel.
Step #2
If needed, trim the wick to 1/4 inch.
Step #3
Allow your candle to burn for approx. 2-3 hours on the first burn to achieve an even melt pool, this is when the wax has completely melted on the surface of the candle. This will ensure you get the most out of your candle and will prevent tunnelling.
Tunnelling occurs when you don’t allow the candle to burn long enough. Wax has a memory so it’s very important to get that first burn right.
Step #4
Trim the candle wick before each new burn using wick trimmers or scissors. This will allow for a cleaner burn each time.
Step #5
Keep wax-free from debris. Debris or foreign objects in the wax can cause the wick to become unstable and could cause a fire.
Step #6
Always keep candles in sight, away from hazards and draughts.
Step #7
Keep away from children and pets.
Step #8
Burn on a flat, heat-resistant surface.
Step #9
Extinguish the candle by using a candle snuffer. This will prevent hot wax from splashing onto your surfaces and also prevent possible burns.
Step #10
Never leave a burning candle unattended.
And there you have it! Incorporating these easy guidelines into your candle-burning routine will not only enhance your experience but also prolong the life of your cherished candle.
Remember, each flicker of the flame carries a story, and by following these steps, you ensure that your candle’s tale is one of warmth, beauty, and safety.
